job summary:
Remote Position. Join a premier nuclear energy team designing advanced instrumentation and control (I&C) systems for next-generation reactors, including ALWR, ALMR, and AHTGR concepts. In this Senior Engineer role, you will lead the end-to-end design and safety classification-ranging from Safety-Related (SC1) to Balance of Plant (NSR)-to ensure optimal plant reliability and performance. You will oversee the full design lifecycle, from front-end engineering design through detailed execution and Mark VIe DCS testing.

responsibilities:
- Design safety-related (S-R/SC1), RTNSS (SC2), PIP (SC3), and non-safety balance of plant (NSR) I&C architectures.
- Apply closed-loop algorithms, simulation modeling, and digital logic across all plant operational modes.
- Develop static diagrams, functional blocks, schematics, and dynamic physics-based simulation models using modern digital tools.
- Manage procurement packages, review test plans, and oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on the GE Vernova Mark VIe DCS platform.
- Perform FMEA, PRA, and safety hazard analyses in collaboration with systems engineering and EPC partners.
qualifications:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical field, along with at least 10 years of experience in heavy industrial control systems design, safety-significant I&C, and digital engineering tools. Strong expertise in IEEE or IEC nuclear standards, along with at least 5 years of experience with mid-to-top-tier DCS or PLC platforms, is required. A Master's degree, Professional Engineer (PE) license, and direct US NRC/international nuclear licensing experience are highly preferred.
